From world-class exhibitions and historic celebrations to dazzling new festivals, it’s the perfect season to blend coastal relaxation with artistic adventure. And at the heart of it all? Littlehampton - a seaside town about to light up both literally and culturally.

Whether you’re a Culture Seeker, a Coastal Wanderer, or a Foodie Explorer, this autumn offers the ideal excuse to check into East Beach Guest House, your stylish seaside base, and set off on an inspiring journey through art, music, theatre, and literature.

World-Class Exhibitions Nearby

This autumn, the region’s cultural institutions are offering a treasure trove of exhibitions for art lovers.

Pallant House Gallery, Chichester is staging Seeing Each Other: Portraits of Artists (17 May – 2 November), bringing together over 150 works exploring identity, relationships, and influence among Britain’s creative circles. Expect to see Lucian Freud, Paula Rego, David Hockney, and Lee Miller in an intimate yet expansive celebration of artistry.

Petworth House will unveil Turner’s Vision at Petworth (15 August – 16 November), the first such exhibition in 20 years to gather JMW Turner’s artistic studies in the very setting that inspired them. Step into Capability Brown’s sweeping parklands after viewing the works, and you’ll see the landscapes through Turner’s eyes.

For something more contemporary, Newlands House Gallery in Petworth presents Andy Warhol: My True Story (until 14 September), a revealing exploration of the man behind the wig, featuring drawings, films, photographs, and memorabilia.

A First for Littlehampton – Light Up LA

From Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 November, Littlehampton will host its first-ever Light Up LA festival - a brand-new illuminated arts event designed to brighten the darker evenings and draw the community together.

The festival will see artists create light-based installations across the town, river, and seafront. Think glowing sculptures, interactive projections, and whimsical lantern trails - all against the backdrop of the sea. The opening night kicks off with late-night shopping, making it a perfect blend of art and atmosphere.

For Coastal Wanderers, it’s a rare chance to explore Littlehampton’s familiar streets and shoreline in an entirely new light — quite literally.

Looking Ahead – Littlehampton’s First Literary Festival

October will bring another exciting cultural first: the inaugural Littlehampton Literary Festival. While details are still under wraps (watch this space), it promises to bring authors, poets, and thinkers to our seaside town for a celebration of the written word.

From intimate readings to lively debates, this festival will offer something for every lover of language. Imagine days spent soaking up ideas and evenings strolling back along the seafront to your room at East Beach Guest House, the waves providing your bedtime soundtrack
